P-13 Stabilizing Crude Oil and Condensate
P-13 Stabilizing Crude Oil and Condensate
STABILIZING CRUDE OIL AND CONDENSATE (66 pages with 30 drawings, graphs and illustrations) This manual discusses the principles and operations of crude oil stabilization by multi-stage separation. It describes a condensate stabilizer and the procedures for its operation. Both Metric and English units of measurement are used so students can work in units with which they are familiar.
Covered Subjects:
- Review of vapor pressure and its application in determining separator operating pressures
- True vapor pressure vs Reid vapor pressure graphs
- Application in producing a specified RVP to meet market specifications
- Light ends removal from high vapor pressure crude oil by pressure reduction
- How stock tank crude oil production increases and gas compression costs decrease by adding separation stages.
- Procedures for operations and control of multi-stage separation systems
- Procedures for determining operating pressure of the various separators in the system.
- Distillation type condensate stabilizer; flow and equipment description in a stabilizer system
- Procedures for troubleshooting typical operating problems
Questions and problems are included throughout the text with answers in the back that allow students to check their understanding of the subject.
Estimated self-study time: 10 hours
The P-13 Knowledge Validation Test provides the answers to both USCS and SI unit validation test questions in the manuals for self-grading or for supervisor to grade test of employees. Also included scoring information. Test answers in pdf format will be emailed.
